  1. Specification, Aggregate Sample & Pattern Approval. A Floors GH specialist conducts a free on-site survey, establishes the substrate condition, and reviews the design intent. Aggregate samples are prepared on workshop test panels at the specified density and finish register, and panel samples are presented for client sign-off before site procurement. The divider-strip and joint pattern is documented in approved drawing form.

  2. Substrate Preparation & Levelness Verification. Sub-floor flatness is verified to F-number specification, and remedial works — typically a self-levelling compound layer — are completed where required to achieve the receiving plane. Substrate moisture is verified per ASTM F2170 protocol before any pour preparation begins.

  3. Divider Strip Installation & Field Pour. Brass, zinc, or specified divider strips are set to the approved drawing pattern, fixed and levelled to final floor height. Specification-grade terrazzo matrix — cement-based or epoxy as specified — is mixed with selected aggregates and poured field by field within the divider grid. Surface vibration consolidates the matrix and minimises voids beneath aggregate.

  4. Cure, Grind & Progressive Polish. Following manufacturer-specified cure, the field is ground in progressive grit stages from coarse to fine. Each pass is cross-directional, removing surface laitance and exposing aggregate to the specified density and depth. A penetrating densifier is applied at the appropriate stage to harden the matrix before final polish to the specified gloss.

  5. Multi-Stage QC Sign-Off & Handover. A four-gate quality protocol — substrate preparation, divider compliance, pour integrity, and final finish — is executed with written records. Aggregate density, gloss register, and joint alignment are verified to the approved specification at handover. The client receives a complete QC dossier alongside the written guarantee schedule.
