Forklift-rated chemical-resistant industrial epoxy across an operational factory. Phased weekend installation over eight weeks.
A multinational manufacturing facility in Tema required complete re-flooring of its 18,000 m² production area. The existing concrete was chemically compromised from fifteen years of processing activity — presenting both slip hazards and ongoing contamination risk. The facility operated 24/7 and could not shut down production for more than 48 hours at a time. Additionally, the specification required forklift-rated resistance (7,000 kg point loads) and chemical resistance to the specific solvents used in the processing line.
We specified a novolac-epoxy industrial system rated for chemical exposure and heavy wheeled loads. The installation was phased into twelve zones, each approximately 1,500 m². Production was rerouted zone-by-zone across consecutive weekends, with each zone receiving full preparation, novolac primer, body coat, and top coat within a 48-hour production shutdown window. Full installation spanned eight weekends with zero unplanned production downtime.
War Room specification. Chemical compatibility testing with client's specific process chemicals. Zone mapping.
Zones A1-A2 (receiving bay). Substrate chemical decontamination. Mechanical grinding. Novolac system installed.
Zones B1-B3 (main production). Highest chemical exposure. Double-top-coat specification.
Zones C1-C2 (packaging). Reduced chemical specification. Standard industrial system.
Zones D1-D2 (dispatch and warehouse). Forklift-rated specification. Commissioning.
Final commissioning. Chemical resistance certification. Facilities handover.
The installation has now been in continuous industrial service for two years. Chemical resistance spot-testing at the 12-month and 24-month marks showed no degradation. Production lost zero hours of output across the eight-week installation window. The client has added Floors GH to their global approved contractor list and commissioned the Accra distribution centre re-flooring in 2025.
Very few flooring contractors in Ghana understand industrial. Most are hoping to learn on your project. Floors GH had already installed the exact novolac system we needed in three other regional factories. Their process was documented, their timeline was realistic, and they delivered exactly what they specified. That kind of professionalism is rare — and we now use them regionally.
