Self-levelling epoxy with ESD dissipation. Installed across 72 hours to protect trading operations.
A leading Ghanaian bank's Airport City trading floor required complete re-flooring after twelve years of heavy institutional use. The existing tile had begun to lift, present trip hazards, and interfere with ESD-sensitive trading equipment. Replacement had to happen without disrupting Monday morning trading — giving the installation team a total window of 72 hours from Friday 18:00 to Monday 05:00.
Our War Room specified 3mm self-levelling epoxy with integrated ESD dissipative layer and conductive copper grid beneath. The grid was bonded to the building's electrical earth at three points across the 2,400 m² floor. The epoxy itself was formulated for accelerated cure — trafficable in 12 hours, fully operational in 48. A phased installation across four zones allowed our teams to work in parallel while maintaining continuous substrate preparation ahead of the resin teams.
Existing tile removal commences. Bank equipment pre-cabled around work zones.
Substrate mechanical grinding and moisture testing across all four zones.
Copper grid installation and bonding to building earth. Grid certified by third-party surveyor.
Primer coat applied. 12-hour cure window begins.
Self-levelling epoxy poured across Zones A and B. Zones C and D prepared in parallel.
Final zones poured. All resin in place by midnight.
Resistance testing at 24 measurement points. All within ESD compliance. Handover to facilities team.
Monday 06:00 trading opened on schedule. Zero disruption to institutional operations. The floor has now been in continuous service for two years with no defects, no lippage, and no resistance drift from its commissioning measurements. Bank facilities team has since specified Floors GH for three additional branch retrofits across Accra and Tema.
We chose Floors GH after three competitors told us our timeline was impossible. They did not just meet it — they finished four hours ahead of schedule. The floor they installed is still performing exactly as commissioned two years later. For a bank, that kind of reliability is not a luxury. It is a business necessity.
